Camp Snapshots

Its hard to sum up a camp season

Here's a quick recap ..... (definitely not all encompassing)

  • 3rd - 8th grade were able to have a camp experience

  • 5th -8th graders were able to spend the night out at camp

  • There were laughs and there were tears

  • Victories and what felt like defeats

  • Behavior problems and break through-s

  • Saw my first scorpion (yes out at camp)

  • Dealt with the struggles of camp in the woods

    • Cockroaches and mice (maybe it was a rat) definitely came to visit

  • Roasted some marshmallows and hot dogs

    • Some of my Dominican staff members had their very first smore ever

  • We learned what it means to FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS

  • Memorized Hebrews 12:1-3 ... well actually > Hebreos 12:1-3

  • Talked about how the Christian Life was a race

    • How one enters the race

    • How one keeps their eyes on the finish line

    • How to deal with the distractions of the world

    • How and why we need to throw off the sin that weighs us down

  • SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST

    • God used the camp setting to allow some of our students to understand the truths of the gospel for the first time and they chose to enter the race (accept Christ and have a relationship with Him)

I'd love to share more details with you during my upcoming furlough (end of July & beginning of August). Let me know if you would like to connect!

It doesn't slow down here ... now we are jumping into our summer ministries

Please keep us in prayer as our new interns arrive and go through orientation and as we jump into the ministry opportunities the Lord has for us this summer.

There are 3 main ways people will be serving this summer

  1. SCHOOL

  2. VBS in the villages

  3. CONSTRUCTION

School will be continuing half days. There will be 4 classes - Spanish, English, Gym, and Art. I have the privilege of overseeing different aspects of the school day especially involving our interns who will be teaching our English classes and the mission trip team members who will be assisting in the classroom as well.

VBS is the second half of the day. We have the opportunity to spend a week in the different bateys (villages) sharing testimonies and Bible lessons, as well as leading songs, crafts and various games. I will have the opportunity to help and be involved in VBS ministry as well.

(VBS = Vacation Bible School)

Construction continues on the school and apartments!

We appreciate your prayers
